Welcome to Leintalzoo Schwaigern
Zoo with the largest group of chimpanzees in Germany, a natural park design, and a large domestic animal area.
In a spacious enclosure, you can experience the largest contiguous group of chimpanzees in Germany, with 34 animals. Other monkey species such as agile gibbons, intelligent capuchins, and colorful mandrills also call Leintal Zoo home.
For bird lovers, there is a walk-in aviary with red ibises, parrots, free-roaming peacocks, and chickens.
Children will enjoy the domestic animal area with ponies, dwarf goats, sheep, guinea pigs, and rabbits, and can let off steam in the large adventure playground.
Great importance was attached to the natural design of the park. Bird protection groves, meadows, ponds, and wetland biotopes with a wealth of plants allow attentive visitors to see butterflies, dragonflies, frogs, lizards, and rare birds, among other things, along the way. On the nature trail, you can learn about the biotopes and observe the underwater life of a pond through a viewing window.
The Leintal Zoo in Schwaigern is open all year round:
- Summer: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Winter: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
