Welcome to Suhl Zoo

Situated in an idyllic meadow valley of Suhl Switzerland, the Suhl Zoo is home to about 500 animals. Special attention is paid to keeping the animals close to nature in spacious enclosures. The zoo specializes mainly in keeping and breeding European wild and domestic animals. A wide variety of species, from Europe's smallest owl, the pygmy owl, to elk and bison, to a small collection of exotic animals in the vivarium, are part of the animal population. The encounter between humans and animals is an important concern for the zoo. The eagle owl even introduces itself by name.
