Welcome to Eisenberg Zoo
In the former garden of the Eisenberg factory owner Felix Geyer with rare woody plants and artificial ruins, there is now a zoo worth seeing. About 720 animals of 44 different species live here on an area of about 2.5 ha. The zoo shows African animals, Australian animals, native forest dwellers and the smallest domestic animals in the world. According to the motto "With the animal on du and du" the petting and feeding of the animals with zoo-own food is expressly desired. Visitors can see the kangaroos, the African domestic animals, the fallow deer and also the farm animals in their enclosures. A 400 square metre walk-in Australian free flight aviary for Australian parakeets in which approx. 300 birds live was inaugurated in 2011. In this enclosure you can experience Bubi and Co up close. As a visitor, you learn a lot of interesting facts about the animals on display and their habitat. A real gem is the newly designed walk-in farm with many small and large domestic animals. Shaggy ponies, trusting pot-bellied pigs, a colourful cow and all kinds of domestic poultry populate our farm. In addition, there is a zoo school for primary school classes in which pets and domestic animals are treated in 90-minute lessons in practice and theory. The latest attraction is a track for electric vehicles "The Outbackralley". Fun for young and old.
