Welcome to Saarbrücken Wildlife Park
Rediscover the local wildlife up close on a leisurely walk
The Saarbrücken Wildlife Park has been open to visitors since 1929, bringing them closer to the local wildlife. Over **20 species** have found a home in the 17-hectare St. Johann Wildlife Park. The philosophy of the wildlife park is based on **species-appropriate** enclosures adapted to the **natural lifestyle** of the animals, and has been implemented excellently.
**Wild in every form** Whether **wild boar**, **bison**, **mouflon**, or **red fox**, native and naturalized animals are waiting to be discovered. **Pheasants** show off their colorful plumage and **rabbits** hop happily across the meadows.
But it's not just the animals that look forward to your visit. A **geology trail** shows the most important types of rock from different geological eras and continents. A well-maintained playground made of natural wood with animal motifs and a variety of climbing opportunities invites children of all ages to play.
The Uhu Pavilion (daily, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.) offers an extensive range of food and drinks. The Wildlife Park Academy organizes a varied program for children's and youth groups as well as for companies and families, e.g., [children's birthday parties](http://www.wildpark-akademie.de/erlebnistour/#kindergeburtstag).
